YOUR FIRST CHOICE FOR CERTIFIED TRANSLATION SERVICES
Libra Translation is a certified translation agency with 10 years of industry-related experience and a passion for certified translations. We know that the quality of your final translation is of paramount importance, which is why we operate to Home Office and NARIC standards.
We can process a wide range of language combinations, whether you need to decipher a Ukrainian business report, a Slovenian birth certificate or have a document or website translated into multiple languages. With our extensive translator database, whatever the language or document, we've got it covered.
Once your document makes its way to us we'll provide you with a quote and delivery time. Your translation will be handled by a subject expert and then quality checked by a member of our in-house translator team to ensure a perfect result every time.
We certainly have passion for languages here at Libra. You do too? By clicking the 'find out more' button you can expand your knowledge on a couple of choice linguistic topics we've picked out.
Please reach us at info@libratranslation.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We have a database of providers that covers almost any language under the sun (no Dothraki or Klingon though, sorry!), and have fulfilled orders from languages as diverse as Albanian right up to closer-to-home Welsh over the last 12 months. The majority of languages we deal with are either European or Eastern European, but we have the resources and knowledge to handle most language pairs that are standard for UK translation agencies.
Most orders are fulfilled within three working days, although we can sometimes provide a rush service for urgent requirements, including next-day guaranteed delivery for the printed version following translation (within the UK only). If this is something you need, let us know and we'll see what we can do for you. A rush surcharge may apply. As a general rule, the longer the text, the more time will be required, but we'll let you know the turnaround time when you get in touch for a quote.
While we can handle just about any document type or format for translation, the most common documents covered are personal and academic certificates, including transcripts, as well as bank statements and other financial information.
If you have a scanner to hand, please send a reasonable quality scan through. If you have no scanner, some iPad or phone apps can do a similar job for you. We can at a pinch sometimes process translations from a photograph - if this is the case, make sure all four document corners are visible when taking the photograph. As a final note, please check whether there are any stamps or text on the back of your document, as these can sometimes be missed.
Yes, we do, and we currently provide services for several law firms in the UK and abroad as well as other private sector businesses. We'll be happy to support you for one-off requirements or continued collaboration to help your company conquer new markets and thrive abroad. There's no time like the present to sell your product or service outside of the UK in a language that your customers speak.
Yes, of course you can - this is quite a regular occurrence if you're ordering a translation for a UK student visa for study at a British university, and can we still send you a paper copy via air mail if needed, although delivery times may vary.
We accept UK and international bank transfer, PayPal, credit/debit cards and Payoneer (the last option is for non-UK residents only. Payment via Bitcoin or ETH might also be possible - contact us for more information.
Getting documents translated can feel like a confusing process, particularly when approaching this type of process for the first time. In short, the translations we provide are accepted by a majority of UK institutions, including UKVI, the UK legal system and EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) family permits. Please let us know the reason for the translation when ordering, especially if your translation is for the General Medical Council, General Dental Council or a UK passport application, as these have slightly different requirements that will need to be taken into account.
Why choose Libra?
We are a translation company that really cares about the service we provide, as evidenced by our numerous 5-star reviews on Google that you can view here. We have a long history and experience within the UK translation industry that means we can give you the best possible service and result. We also try our best to be as responsive as possible, and aim to get back you within the hour for quotation during normal business hours.
Other items to consider
If you need an apostille on your original document, we recommend you contact a notary public or the UK Legalisation Office for advice, or the relevant embassy where this concerns a foreign document. Usual practice is for the solicitor or notary to provide the apostille prior to translation with us. Whether your document needs an apostille or not should be checked with the institution accepting your translation (the most usual scenario is where a replacement or additional copy of an original document is issued).
About our linguists
Unlike many countries, the concept of ‘sworn translators’ does not exist within the United Kingdom. Instead, we work with linguists that have relevant qualifications and experience, usually meaning a degree in translation or foreign languages along with three years of experience. We also use strict in-house quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy of the final document.
Types of customers we most often work with
The majority of our customers need certified translations for official processes within the UK such as marriage, divorce, visa application/indefinite leave to remain (ILR) or a house purchase.
Other services
We also translate websites, informational leaflets and handle projects involving multiple languages, including multilingual layout and desktop publishing for InDesign and other formats - get in touch if you'd like to discuss your needs, as we understand that you may be looking for a custom or specific service. Proofreading, editing, copywriting and even audio transcription can also be taken care of, as well as document transcreation.
Certified translation for use abroad
If your translation is for use outside of the UK, please tell us at the time of ordering. Requirements vary widely from country to country, and in some cases only a translation done through the relevant embassy or country of origin will be accepted. We also recommend you contact the relevant embassy so that you are aware of any additional requirements.
Services we don't provide
We do not currently provide spoken interpreting services, but feel free to get in touch if this is something you need and we'll try to point you in the right direction.
